Diversity
Code of Practice
I recognise that every person is unique. The differences
between people can enrich us. They add value to our work.
I hold that all human beings are of equal worth, that worth
is a function of being human, not of what people do, nor
how they behave, nor any particular attribute or quality.
I strive to esteem everyone with whom I come into contact
in my life coaching practice.
I
seek to manifest my respect and valuing of others by always
seeking to relate in an open, honest and authentic way.
I strive to develop a coaching practice that is accessible
and inclusive to all who wish to become more effective in
their lives, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.
Whilst
an awareness of the differences between human beings enriches
our work and our lives, it is also a source of challenge.
This challenge can make us uncomfortable. I undertake to
meet the challenges that human diversity brings with integrity,
in an openhearted way.
I
am committed to promoting equality of opportunity. I acknowledge
that some people in our society are less valued, have less
access to resources and are afforded fewer opportunities
than others. These injustices operate through language,
stereotypes, individual behaviour, organisational policies
and legislation. I seek not to duplicate these injustices
in my work.
Confidentiality
Code of Practice
I keep confidential all information that clients share with
me, including their identity, unless expressly stated otherwise,
in writing.
I
may share situations when undergoing my support / supervision,
or when facilitating others' learning, but I do not share
anything that may identify a client.
I
will break this confidence only under the following, extreme
conditions:
-
If I am required to by law
- If
I consider a client likely to cause serious harm to themselves
or another
