Well, yes - but...not if it means that we stop being there for ourselves. We all have wants and needs and, however noble our intentions, I suggest that most of us need to have at least some of them met before we can be fully there for our children. If you're there for you, and look after your needs, you may find that you're significantly more capable of meeting the needs of your children.
